Goodnight

I reach for the bed switch

With my bare feet I slip through my blankets

My eyes repeatedly blinking

I clinch on the sheets

My eyes up staring as the bulb slowly deems

I was not making a wish this time

I wish I was though

Coming into terms with the silence

Was still staring through the darkness

My eyes open but could barely see a thing

My mind flipped

To a whole new page

But the chapter was familiar

Why the repeat?

Consumed with thoughts

Not fresh ones though

At a time so cold

A scroll I could not unfold

Pictures flowed

Tears followed

Painful gulps swallowed

But mama says “moments like these are here to stay”

I was not making a wish this time

I wish I was though

Yea I wish I knew

Slow but sure

Could not give any doubt whatsoever

Path seemed clear

It was a future not so far

Nothing could deter

No one could differ

What destiny turns into fate?

What trees fall in one sway?

What’s this piece of cake?

I was not making a wish this time

I wish I was though

Game over

Troubled minds never win

Off to my next chapter

I love the atmosphere

A whole new sphere

It’s a little bit kinder

But I need to be wiser

Need not a reminder

Pen it and deliver

That’s my wish…
